What “cancel culture” really is

In the event you didn’t remember it, the ‘singularity’ as people have variously called it is very near. Which basically makes debates about cancel culture about the most useless bit of furniture you could use as a flotation device considering that we’re sinking faster than The Titanic.

You might as well grab a wicker chair and use it as a shield for fighting Smaug as believe ‘cancel culture’ is a useful thing to think about.

You can think your loud (but not harmonious) voices will ‘cancel’ certain bits of ‘culture’ — which is variously defined as the way people do and say things in different places — but you will simply never keep their ‘thoughts’ quiet.

I mean, you all tried that shit with ME a few times and it just isn’t ever going to work with people smart enough to understand that the way to the next level of this particular interstellar virtual reality video game we’re playing clearly is NOT suicide or anything remotely like that. You ought to get a little bit better grip on your vitamin D if you’re that far in the dark. It’s a wonder your eyes still work, Gollum.

We’re moving into a land of post scarcity. Of post oppression. Your “fair minded” oppression — that oppression you ‘vaguely use’ against those who would “oppress” you with their interpretation of things — is very much still oppression.

You think yourself dignified in deciding what it’s ‘okay’ or ‘not okay’ to TALK ABOUT?
