I think sometimes it’s okay to begin a topic — no matter the grave importance we or others assign to it or know it has — with a joke. The dark one which I devised on short notice is just this:
For my next impossible feat, I will consider the peculiar animal known to others as ‘humility.’ Here put in quotes because the definition really does escape me.
I will consider it, as the first thing any good hunter must do, that I may have some chance of successfully pursuing it. To do what with I cannot say; I have not gotten anything but a glimpse of the beast for so long have I looked in the mirror. Others, I’m sure I’ve heard it said, consider it quite a magnificent and worthwhile creature. One which many a person has admired another for having, and still others have the curious task of ‘being proud’ they actually have on a sort of a leash.
